The CPF has noted a recent uptick in vehicle break-ins within the Sector 2 area over the past week. Reports indicate that these incidents are occurring both during the day and in the early evening hours.
In most reported cases, valuables were left visible within the vehicle, attracting opportunistic criminal activity. We urge all residents to take extra precautions to secure their vehicles and belongings.
Security Recommendations
- Clear your car: Never leave laptops, bags, or mobile phones visible in the vehicle, even for a short period.
- Check your locks: Double-check that your vehicle is actually locked after using a remote. Signal jamming remains a risk in our area.
- Lighting: If possible, park in well-lit areas or within secured premises. Sensors and floodlights are effective deterrents.
- Report suspicious activity: If you notice individuals loitering near parked vehicles or driving slowly through residential streets, please report it immediately to our radio network or SAPS.
Community vigilance is our best defense. By looking out for one another and securing our own property, we can reduce the number of incidents in our sector.
